Li-Ft® Saline Removal

LI-FT® is a non-laser, saline-based technique designed to lighten or remove unwanted permanent makeup pigment. It can be used to address brows that are too dark, oversaturated, unevenly shaped, discolored or no longer complement your features.

Using a specialized cosmetic tattooing device, a sterile saline solution is carefully implanted into the previously tattooed area. This creates a controlled healing response that helps draw pigment towards the skin’s surface, where it can be gradually shed as the skin heals.

Why choose saline over laser?

While laser removal can be effective, certain cosmetic tattoo pigments may react unpredictably to laser energy, sometimes becoming darker or revealing underlying colors such as red, orange or yellow. LI-FT® offers an alternative that does not rely on laser energy, making it a consideration for clients who wish to avoid the possibility of laser-induced pigment darkening or color changes.

Saline removal may also be a suitable option when the existing pigment composition or previous tattoo work makes a non-laser approach preferable. The most appropriate method depends on the individual, the pigment and the condition of the skin.

What to expect

Following treatment, the brows will typically experience redness, possible pinpoint bleeding and scabbing as part of the natural healing process. It is essential that scabs are allowed to fall away on their own, without picking or disturbing the area.

Multiple sessions may be required depending on the age, depth, color and saturation of the existing pigment, as well as your skin’s individual healing response. Treatments are spaced at least eight weeks apart to allow the skin adequate time to recover and the results to develop.

LI-FT® can be used to achieve partial lightening in preparation for a new brow design or to progressively reduce unwanted pigment. Complete removal cannot be guaranteed, and results vary from person to person.

A consultation is recommended to assess your existing brow work, discuss your goals and determine whether saline removal is the most appropriate option.

The goal is to create a cleaner canvas while respecting the health and integrity of your skin.
